I made this green-and-cream gingham tote from a rescued tablecloth, giving the fabric a new purpose without losing its familiar charm. I quilted the fabric myself to give the bag texture and structure, then finished it with warm leather handles secured with rivets.
It's a compact, open-top tote with a cotton lining and enough structure to keep its shape. I love the combination of classic checks and warm leather. It's practical, unfussy, and full of character.
Each rescued piece has its own second story, and this one started at the table.

I love how a familiar tablecloth can become something useful to carry, with its original checks still front and center.
