About This Piece

Those colorful stripes caught my eye right away. The fabric started life as Martha Stewart quilted pillow shams, and I could picture it as a bag, finished with that sweet Liberty Fabrics floral trim.

I crafted the vegetable-tanned leather handles myself, too. Working with leather and rescuing beautiful textiles are two of my favorite parts of creating, so bringing them together for Chatham felt just right.

Giving beautiful materials a second chance is why I do this. What might have been forgotten is now a colorful, useful bag with a story all its own.
